Movie "Vettaiyan" Review

Plot and Storyline

Based on a high-stakes story that weaves together family drama, action and political intrigue, the film centers around rights activist Aisha Chaudhary who was diagnosed with Severe Combined Immune Deficiency (SCID) and as a baby underwent an operation for which she had to be kept in isolation away from other patients. In his title role, Rajinikanth is top-notch as Vettaiyan, a character that has been layered with loads of layers and emotions (he was the one who recently mentioned that Baasha and Padayappa are like Krishna). Amitabh Bachchan also has a significant role which complements the character of Rajinikanth giving a few scenes with emotional depth and gravitas. Fahadh Faasil, one of the finest actors in Indian Cinema delivers an intense portrayal as a morally twisted antagonist. The plot talks of justice, power, and redemption, which keeps the audience on tenterhooks with unexpected twists and mesmerizing dialogues.

Performances

Rajinikanth, in typical style is charismatic and shines all way through. He continues to be a delight on the screen, his action sequences are grand, while walksthrough with ease. The bandiwala scenes between Naseer and Amitabh Bachchan give the film a solid grounding, and are high emotional points for their fans. Fahadh Faasil does well with the frightening but still semi-relatable role which definitely enhances the further layers of storytelling. The supporting players too stand tall that adds to the overall impact of the film.

By Determination and Skilled Craftsmanship

With a stunning star cast, the narrative has been fantastically wedged to make sure it attests the strength of this movie…Director T J Gnanavel, must be applauded for holding it tightly at one position. And it is well-paced, with the action scenes choreographed so that they feel natural even in their seeming randomness. Visuals, the setting itself shows a lot of grand urban and rural visuals with its clever cinematography coupled with sweeping background score add weight to the already heavy moments in Adulting. The dialogues in this particular film (yes, a lot of them were shared with Amitabh Bachchan) between him and Rajinikanth are stuff of legends.

Verdict

Vettaiyan , A Film or an Experience? It overlays action with emotion and drama in a neat package that conveys powerful meaning. An ensemble of legendary actors, fantastic direction and a compelling story line, the movie is expected to break records for sure in days to come and definitely a tribute for cinema addicts.
