Different Types of Pilgrimages in India

India is home to many religious and spiritual traditions, and there are several types of pilgrimages associated with different faiths. Here are some of the most significant types of pilgrimages in India:

  1.   Hindu Pilgrimages  

Hinduism, the predominant religion in India, has several sacred sites associated with gods, goddesses, and ancient mythology. Some major Hindu pilgrimages include:

-   Char Dham Yatra  : A highly revered pilgrimage to four holy sites: Badrinath, Dwarka, Puri, and Rameswaram.

-   Kumbh Mela  : One of the largest religious gatherings in the world, held at four different locations (Haridwar, Prayagraj, Nashik, and Ujjain) where devotees bathe in sacred rivers.
