Citadel Honey Bunny Review

Unfortunately, "Citadel: Honey Bunny," the Indian off-shoot of the international "Citadel" universe fizzles out in many departments trying to infuse a sense of espionage with tales from Bollywood. Flipping between the years 1992 to 2000, stuntman Bunny (Varun Dhawan) and struggling actress Honey (Samantha Ruth Prabhu) are drawn into a dangerous world of espionage.

Citadel Honey Bunny Review

The high production value and several good sequences of action marred by an unoriginal story and shallow characters make up for the series. While the chemistry between our leads is excellent, no amount of sexual tension can save a worn-out premise. While the scenic timeline is meant to add depth, it's often more a roadblock than a detour — confusing instead of capturing one's interest.

Samantha is effective, but Honey, a more nuanced character than we usually get to see in her work as well, comes off as being forced into a single note by banal writing that offers few exciting colors for her to paint with; neither does Dhawan's Bunny have the gravitas of a well-heeled spy who's done this all before. The supporting cast including Kay Kay Menon as Guru is almost wasted and their characters seem one-note.

For viewers who have a simple and decent display like TV, Laptop or mobile the Color Grading of the series is very bad , most part of the series is in dark , visibility is bad .

Someone who is a spy is working as a stuntman , he is not able to figure out that his own boss Kay Kay Menon is a liar and Varun is a Spy .

Citadel International series and now the Indian version both are a waste of time . Somehow Amazon team is unable to grasp the sensibilities of MASS INDIAN audience .

Other the other hand Amazon Prime has landed a new comedy series The Pradeeps of Pittsburg , check that out instead its a much better show than this one .

The Director Duo Raj & DK who are immensly talented ,somehow missed out in this show , they have given some really commendable shows earlier like Family Man and many more .

Ultimately, Citadel: Honey Bunny is a pretty show with not much behind the curtain that makes it all worthwhile as an espionage thriller, due to its underwhelming plot and lack of real character depth.
