Coldplay Concert will it happen or not ?
Coldplay's much-awaited concert in Mumbai, set for January 2025, has become embroiled in controversy over ticketing issues. The British band, returning to India after eight years, sparked tremendous excitement with their "Music of the Spheres" World Tour, leading to over 13 million people attempting to secure tickets when they went on sale on September 22, 2024. But it seems the concert is canceled now , and a bigger tradegy is that coldplay has announced its retirement . Too many things happening around Coldplay right now .
This became a major controversy as a large number of fans were not able to book, mostly due to the technical issues on BookMyShow. Furthermore, reports suggest that tickets went on black market platforms like Viagogo and Stubhub being resold at much more than their face value. The tickets, which were originally priced between Rs 2,500 to Rs 35,000 each, have hit the roof with their resale price being over Rs 3 lakh and banning websites in huge trouble.
Consequently, BookMyShow went legally and approached Mumbai Police to file a First Information Report (FIR) against myGlamm for illegal ticket sales. The case is under investigation by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) and BookMyShow has said that sale of tickets in an unauthorised manner could lead to cancellation. Nonetheless, the actual concert stands no chance of getting axed and fans have their assurance of a safe Coldplay experience form BookMyShow.
That aside, cops are going after touts and it continues to be one of the most highly anticipated music concerts in India in 2025.
